Bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in social work, 5 years of experience in acute mental health with local government, 3 years of experience in global philanthropy, and 1 year of experience and counting in private practice.
For almost 9 years I studied and worked in mental health, mostly with local government entities specializing in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. It was a very rewarding career, but my heart ached to travel abroad. I took my practice on the road.. well I should say sky. In the last 3 years, I have lived in over 6 different countries. While I was traveling I noticed how sad and lonely I began to feel. Although I was with my partner I wasn't finding those connections I had in my community as I had in my home country. As I started to explore my emotions it became evident that it wasn't just me who was feeling this either. Mental health treatment is tough to obtain in the States but abroad is even more difficult.
About a year ago I started to create something to help bridge these gaps in services for English speaking expatriates all over the world with Talk with Christine. I am using my knowledge of western mental health treatments with my personal experiences to provide easily accessible quality services to individuals all over the world. Everyone deserves the support and skills to transform.
